Tibetan Terriers are generally a healthy breed. Currently it is possible to register with the Kennel Club puppies whose parent's have not undergone the relevant health tests.
However, please ensure that you go to a responsible breeder and ask the breeder for evidence of both parent's hip scores (currently the mean for the breed is 14) and the annual eye test certificate which is still required even if the test below has been done.
A separate DNA test for Tibetan Terriers became available in October 2009 for the painful eye disorder Primary Lens Luxation.
